Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd, PERODUA (054795V) has been Malaysia’s top-selling carmaker since 2006, shifting over 3.2 million vehicles since its inception in 1993.

A joint-venture between Malaysian and Japanese companies, Perodua quickly became renowned for making high-quality, fuel-efficient, practical, reliable and affordable cars.

Many models have been Malaysian favourites. These include the Kancil, Kelisa, Viva, Axia, Bezza, Alza and of course the Myvi, which has been the nation’s best-selling car for nearly a decade with over a million produced.

Based in Sungai Choh, Rawang, Perodua’s 520-acre HQ comprises a corporate building, two vehicle manufacturing plants, R&D facilities, a test track, a parts warehouse, training facilities, a mosque and a child care centre. Additionally, the company has engine and transmission manufacturing facilities in Sendayan, Negeri Sembilan.

Currently, Perodua has been stepping up its indigenous design, innovation and localisation efforts. Besides having 90% of its parts locally sourced, the new Myvi has an upper body that is completely the work of local talent, as well as locally-developed features to better suit the Malaysian market.
